Peach Cranberry Chutney
Chutney, originating in India, has evolved significantly since it was first created. Essentially it is a condiment that is typically paired with rice and meats, and for many years it has been made with cilantro, mint, tamarind, coconut, onion or tomatoes. As it became popular in other regions of the world, chefs decided to use different ingredients for its base.
In the American South, where peaches are abundant, Peach Chutney is a popular addition to a country ham or pork chops. In our catering, we like to pair the chutney with pulled pork, adding a few shreds of mint to top it off. It’s also great on a grilled cheese sandwich with arugula.
Come taste our chutneys at the Portland Farmers Market at PSU starting March 20th. We offer free samples of all of our products!
