Sassafras Southern Tomato Pie

Tomato Pie is a Southern dish, made with a traditional pie crust. We fill it with tomatoes and cheddar, then top it with herbs, spices and caramelized onions.
The pie was featured in the Oregonian’s FOODday in August 2009 and chosen as one of their Best Recipes of the Year!
